Project	Development & Implementation of a Process Management System for a Security Documents & Currency Printing company and Support for Registration to the ISO 14001 Environmental Management System & the OHSAS 18001 Health & Safety Standards
Objectives	Objectives for this engagement were to establish and implement a management system compliant with and in support of the facility’s successful registration to the ISO 14001 Standard as required by the client’s customers.
Unique Issues	This client requested registration to the ISO 14001 Environmental Management System & OHSAS 18001 Health & Safety System prior to seeking registration to the ISO 9001 Quality Management System. This is atypical as the ISO 14001 & OHSAS 18001 management systems generally requires many of the same elements as needed for compliance with some elements of the ISO 9001 Quality management System.
Results	The client was successfully registered to ISO 14001 & OHSAS 18001 with no major findings. Sixteen major processes were diagrammed and 40 procedures were developed and 13 process owners and their process participants were trained and audited. Ten internal auditors were trained and all processes audited prior to the formal ISO 14001 & OHSAS 18001 registrations. A document control system (Insight 1’s OneWindow®) was implemented & trained for all client employees. Insight 1, Inc. used its ISO 9001 experience to assure that those elements needed for compliance and support of the ISO 14001 elements were implemented at this facility. Having already accomplished this at another of this same Client’s sites, we not only met successful registration to ISO 14001 & OHSAS 18001 at this facility but brought about partial compliance with ISO 9001:2008 in support of this facility’s objective of achieving registration to ISO 9001:2008 in the near future.
Description of Services	Defined and facilitated the development of a new Operational Management System based on Process Management methodologies leading to compliance and registration to ISO 14001 & OHSAS 18001 for Environmental Management Systems while improving overall business performance. The tasks included the following: Facilitated definition of a hierarchical set of top level process diagrams for the Product and Service Life cycle for the business Facilitated definition of a hierarchical set of process diagrams for the management infrastructure including the environmental compliance processes. Defined Standard Operating Procedures for lower level processes required to document & support the environmental compliance requirements of ISO 14001 & OHSAS 18001. Facilitated the assignment of process owners for all processes. Trained Process Owners and authors in methodology for writing Standard Operating Procedures using the Insight 1, Inc. provided template. Facilitated and assisted the staff in developing, reviewing, approving and releasing of applicable Standard Operating Procedures. Provided and installed the Insight 1, Inc. One Window® System for providing instant access of process management system documents. Provided additional training for the Process Owners in Process Owner Responsibilities, Corrective Action and Continual Improvement, and Understanding the ISO 14001 Standard. Trained an Internal Audit Team for conducting periodic audits of the process management system for verification of practice vs. documentation. Identified, managed and implemented a number of separate improvement projects. Some of these included: Development and Implementation of a Corrective Action Database for tracking process Corrective Action Requests (CARs) Development and Implementation of a Training Data Base to assist in managing training of all personnel and maintaining their current training status
Methodologies	Utilized Insight 1, Inc.’s unique methodologies for facilitation and documentation of hierarchical business processes that lead to development of an environmental management system that is compliant with the ISO 14001 & OHSAS 18001 standards.
